Before we start, though, a few points of note… So to help you decide which is most deserving of your hard-earned cash, over the next few pages we’ll pit them against each other in an eight-round, no-holds-barred battle. Once upon a time we knew where we stood with these two qualitatively individual music software heavyweights, but now the similarities are enough to make the undecided DAW buyer’s head spin. Not only that, but Logic Pro X 10.5’s new Sampler and Quick Sampler plugins are positively brazen in their similarity with Ableton’s Sampler and Simpler devices, while the remade Drum Machine Designer is more than a little reminiscent of Ableton’s Drum Rack. (the OSC prompt asking for permission to connect never occurs).ĮDIT 2: Solved! Thank you Beneficial_Loan_5784 - need to go into the Applications Folder, right click the Logic Pro icon, then "Get Info", and "enable Rosetta Emulation" in that popup. Before the release of Logic Pro X 10.5, Live’s Session View gave it a creative angle all its own, but with the promotion of the Live Loops Grid from GarageBand iOS to Logic, that differential has been flattened. Note - as another data point - I tried loading everything up in Ableton Live Lite (which I also have) and everything works properly as a control surface in Ableton.ĮDIT - the same problem occurs in garageband. Would it be better to post this on the Native Instrument support forums? Thanks in advance for your help.
plist as well as the applications) and still can't get anything to register. I've tried a hard reinstall (deleting all logic. However, in Logic, I can load komplete kontrol as a plugin, and things work, but the basic transport functionality (using the 4d encoder knob in logic to move around the song, for example) does not work. The same is true when I load Maschine software in standalone mode (all buttons are functional etc). All buttns are functional, I can play and adjust instruments, etc.
The keyboard performs as expected when I load Komplete Kontrol (ver 2.5.1) in standalone mode. I can see logic does see the S61midi channels (under Preferences->Midi->Inputs). There is nothing in the control surfaces window in logic. When I follow those steps, step 3 (a prompt asking for permission) never shows up.
Their experience seems to be reflected in the official install instructions. Every user of the Komplete Kontrol just seems to have it auto-recognized as a control surface within logic. I am at my wits end and could really use some help.
